LA

Gotta love smoggy LA sometimes. :(

So this was my past weekend in a nut shell. Friday I went to club Rhonda's rhondavous with dj's Aeroplane and Harvey performing. In case you aren't familiar with Aeroplane, I posted a video with their most popular treatment of Friendly Fires' song Paris. They were epic.

Didn't do too much "raging" this weekend, it was quite nice and relaxing, which was rad in itself. Nothing says summer in LA (or at least one of many) like watching a movie in the Hollywood Forever cemetery. The event is called Cinespia and it happens every weekend in LA, (as soon as it is warm to do so) until maybe the start of fall? Not quite sure, but definitely a summer occasion. Shows mostly cult classics and just plain classics on the mausoleum wall and usually has some pretty awesome local LA and foreign dj talent play prior. One time for one of Quentin Tarentino's films, Quentin Tarentino actually lent his own personal reel for the night. Gotta love LA.

The great thing about it number 1: it takes place in a cemetary-and not just any cemetary, a gorgeous one. The one where Marilyn Monroe, Alfred Hitchcock, and Johnny Ramone of The Ramones are buried. I believe...

Number 2: It's one of the best cost-efficient things to do. $10 "donation" and you get to bring your own picnic of whatever you fancy, and most importantly you get to bring in vino and or other alcoholic libations of your choice.

Number 3: Where else are you going to be able to do that?

It's truly one of the most special experiences that I love about living in LA. Other than that...took a hike with my friend's dog Spliff. He was enjoying the breezy air, as you can see.

  2. You are so lucky to live in LA. There's always so much happening there. This all looks like so much fun. Ah, the doggie photo is too cute.
