Hello Beauties!! I Hope everyone has had an amazing week so far. If any of you ladies or gents are suffering from mid-week blues, ease your mind and face right here. Today on BnB we have three at home DIY face masks + tips for healthy natural skin.

-If not sure what your skin type may be, click here see what type of skin you have-

*Regular Skin (All Skin Types Welcome)
This mask below works on ALL skin types. It would be perfect for a spa party, or anyone looking to get that refreshed glow back into their skin.

Oatmeal and Yogurt Face Mask

This face mask is suitable for all skin types and is super simple to prepare. It will cleanse and rejuvenate your skin.

  • 1 tbsp oatmeal, finely ground, very important
  • 1 tbsp live, organic yogurt (skip the flavored stuff)
  • A few drops of honey
Add the yogurt to the oatmeal in a small bowl and mix together.
Warm a few drop of honey. To do this, warm a spoon under hot water for a minute, and then add a few drops of honey to the spoon.
Stir the honey into the yogurt and oatmeal mixture.
Apply the mask to the face. Leave it on for 10 minutes, and then rinse off with several splashes of warm water. Follow with a warm washcloth. Apply moisturizer.

*Oily or Acne-Prone Skin
Oily skin is shiny, especially in the T-zone (from the forehead, down the nose to the chin). To test if you have oily skin, press a paper napkin to your forehead. When you pull it away, it should be soaked in oils. While you may find this annoying, the good thing about oily skin is it ages better than dry skin. That's something to celebrate!

Strawberry, Honey and Brown Sugar Acne Mask

YES! The benefits of strawberries are amazing. This strawberry acne mask contains honey, lemon juice and brown sugar to help tighten acne-prone skin. The salicylic acid naturally found in strawberries is excellent for skin, as is the beneficial properties of honey and lemon. The brown sugar is a wonderful natural exfoliant. Keep this mask in the refrigerator for up to 12 hours. Cooled, it's even nicer on the skin.

  • 6 fresh strawberries
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
De-stem the strawberries and put them into a food processor. Add lemon juice, brown sugar and honey. Blend in the food processor until a paste is made.
Apply mask to face for 10 minutes and remove with a warm wet washcloth.

*Dry Skin
Dry skin feels very tight, especially after cleansing the face. You have a tendency towards fine wrinkles, flaking and red patches. In women of color, skin may appear ashy or dull from dead skin buildup. This face masks, combined with regular exfoliation and daily use of moisturizers should soothe dry, chapped skin the natural way!

Aloe Vera & Avocado  Mask for Dry Skin

This one uses as its main ingredients super hydrating aloe vera gel, avocado and honey. This mask is perfect for hydrate and softening the skin.

Aloe vera gel is known for its healing properties which makes this a great mask for wind-burned or sunburned skin. This product can be found at most drug and health food stores.

Avocado and honey are typical face mask ingredients that are full of antioxidants. You could use these alone for facials and love the results.

  • 2 tbsp aloe vera gel
  • 1/2 ripe avocado (you can eat the other half)
  • 1 tbsp runny honey (heat it a few seconds in the microwave to make it runny)
  • 1 teaspoon almond or coconut oil
  • 1 1/2 tbsp dry oatmeal finely ground  (the real stuff, not instant)
Cut up the avocado into pieces, and then mash it in a bowl with a fork, creating a smooth paste without lumps. Add the aloe vera gel, runny honey, coconut oil and oatmeal and mix together.
Apply the mask to freshly washed skin and allow it to sit for about 15 minutes. Rinse with lukewarm water and a warm washcloth.
Always follow with moisturizer applied to still-moist skin.

*Toner Tips

Toner is very important after cleansing. Women and men use facial toner for many different reason, for example it can add back the moister to the skin that was taken off from cleansing, correcting the Ph Balance, removes any residue that was left behind, etc.…Below are two of my favorite ways to tone my skin. Both are very beneficial for most skin types, plus they can even be mixed together for a super toner!

Witch Hazel: This all natural astringent is simply amazing.  The leaves bark, and twigs of witch hazel are high in tannins. Tannins are found in any natural astringent because of their ability to tighten, dry and harden tissues. This product can be used for various purposes including: Treat Acne, reduce puffiness, cleanse and refresh the skin, restore moisture, refine the pores, etc. The list can go on.
Final Word: This product is so cheap, about $2-3 bux at the drug store.

Apple Cider Vinegar: Malic and lactic acids found in the vinegar help to soften and exfoliate your skin, reduce red marks, and treat acne on both your face and body. Apple cider vinegar also tones your skin to the proper pH.
So basically, it's a wonderful beauty secret hiding in your kitchen cupboard!

Apple Cider V and Witch Hazel Toner

  • 1/3 cup witch hazel
  • 1/3 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/3 Pure water
  • A few drops of lavender or essential oil of your choice
  • Glass bottle

Mix and pour into the clean bottle. Shake bottle well before using. Dampen a cotton or ball or pad with toner, and swab over face.
